Which Road Test Should You Book?
There are several different classes of licenses in Alberta, below is a list, with descriptions, of the classes that you can book a road test for through our office.
This is the most common licence class in Alberta, allowing you to drive cars, vans, light trucks, two-axle motorhomes and RVs. You must pass a knowledge test and hold a Class 7 licence (Learner’s License) for at least a year before taking your Class 5 road test.
You’ll need a Class 6 licence to drive a motorcycle, moped or trike in Alberta. First, you need to hold a Class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5 GDL licence, or a Class 7 licence held for at least one year. After that, you’ll need to pass a knowledge test and a road test.

Coming From Out of Province?
If you are coming from another province in Canada or from the USA with a current driver’s license you can apply for an Alberta Driver’s License without taking a road test.
