Learners Permits
A Class 7 learner’s licence allows you to drive a Class 5 or 6 vehicle with someone over 18 who has a full Class 5 driver’s licence or higher. They must sit in the front passenger seat. This licence also allows you to drive a moped.
The Alberta government offers study material to take your knowledge test:
- Study booklet – available for download at: www.transportation.alberta.ca
- Flash cards -These are available for $19.95. They are for the basic learner’s permit test.
- Online quiz’s – you can find these at the above website
In order for a minor to write this exam, they need the following documentation:
- Signed approval from parent in office (client and parent must attend together)
- Either a Birth Certificate, Valid Passport, Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residence Card
